The Day of the Lifeless, or Dia de los Muertos, is a vacation historically celebrated on Nov. 1 and a pair of, although different days, resembling Oct. 31 or Nov. 6, could also be included. It entails household and pals gathering to pay respects to those that have died. Traditions linked with the vacation embrace honoring the deceased with marigolds and altars.

Ana Cuevas, 51, of Norwalk at Calvary Cemetery and Mortuary in East Los Angeles. She constructed an altar to honor 14 of her kin and pals who’ve died. Cuevas cried whereas telling how she misplaced her 88-year-old grandmother and 1-year-old nephew to COVID final yr. On the cemetery on Saturday shall be a Dia de los Muertos occasion, with a Mass at midday and a celebration at 1:30 p.m.
