LAPD officers injured, man arrested after crash in Crenshaw



Law enforcement officials have been responding to a name for assist in South Los Angeles on Sunday when a person driving a sedan plowed into their patrol automobile, injuring them each.

The incident started round 5 p.m. as gang officers responded to a request for backup on a report of a person seen with a gun close to Hillcrest Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Crenshaw, in accordance with the Los Angeles Police Division.

The officers drove to the world in a marked patrol unit with their lights and siren activated, police officers stated.

They have been touring south onto Hillcrest from Martin Luther King Jr. once they noticed a darkish Nissan sedan going north within the southbound lanes, police stated.

“The Nissan accelerated towards the police automotive whereas driving on the fallacious facet of the highway,” officers stated.

The officer driving the patrol unit moved the automobile to keep away from a head-on crash, police stated.

“The suspect modified his automobile’s route and collided with the passenger facet of the police automobile,” the officers stated. “The officers have been transported to an area hospital. One officer was handled and launched and the opposite was admitted for additional remedy.”

Jose Nicholas Lopez, 21, of Los Angeles was arrested on the scene on suspicion of assault with a lethal weapon on a police officer.

Jail data present Lopez was booked early Monday and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Police officers stated the case will likely be offered to the L.A. County district legal professional’s workplace for consideration.
