TSA reports record number of firearms at airport security checkpoints, agency says

“I applaud the work of our Transportation Safety Officers who do a wonderful job of stopping firearms from moving into the safe space of the airport, and onboard plane,” stated TSA Administrator David Pekoske. “Firearms are prohibited in carry-on baggage on the checkpoint and onboard plane. When a passenger brings a firearm of their carry-on bag, this consumes important safety sources and poses a possible risk to transportation safety, along with being very expensive for the passenger.”
