Famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin stunned the nation with a wedding announcement Friday on his 93rd birthday.
Aldrin married girlfriend Anca Faur, 63, Friday in a small personal ceremony in Los Angeles, he introduced on social media.
He and Faur “are as excited as eloping youngsters,” he added.

“On my 93rd birthday and the day I will even be honored by Dwelling Legends of Aviation, I’m happy to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur and I’ve tied the knot.”
Aldrin included images of the couple of their wedding ceremony outfits within the announcement. The retired cosmonaut’s tuxedo lapel was full of decorations from his service.

Aldrin was the second man to stroll on the moon — following Neil Armstrong — on the well-known Apollo 11 mission.

Faur, 63, has a doctorate in chemical engineering from the College of Pittsburgh and is concerned as an government vp for Buzz Aldrin Ventures.
