Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a person armed with an “edged weapon” in Palmdale on Friday evening, authorities mentioned.
The deputies had been responding to a home violence name within the 3700 block of Oxford Drive round 10:20 p.m., based on a sheriff’s division information launch.
“The suspect superior towards deputies with an edged weapon and a deputy-involved taking pictures occurred,” based on the sheriff’s assertion. No additional description of the weapon was offered.
The taking pictures sufferer was taken to a hospital and pronounced useless. Deputies recovered the weapon on the scene, based on the division.
It was the sixth deputy-involved taking pictures to end in damage or dying this 12 months, based on information posted on the Sheriff’s Division web site.
That’s a brisk tempo; the division has averaged 22 such shootings — or fewer than two monthly — since 2019.
5 of the shootings this 12 months have been deadly.
