A bunch of conservative Anglican leaders from around the globe have issued an announcement rebuking the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and different Church of England leaders they declare “have failed to protect the religion.”
“We have now no confidence that the Archbishop of Canterbury nor the opposite Devices of Communion led by him (the Lambeth Convention, the Anglican Consultative Council and the Primates’ Conferences) are in a position to present a godly manner ahead that will likely be acceptable to those that are dedicated to the truthfulness, readability, sufficiency and authority of scripture,” learn an announcement titled “The Kigali Dedication,” which was launched by International Anglican Futures Convention (GAFCON) on Saturday.
GAFCON is “a world household of genuine Anglicans standing collectively to retain and restore the Bible to the center of the Anglican Communion,” based on its web site, which explains the motion emerged in 2008 in response to rising theological liberalism within the Anglican Communion.
The Kigali Dedication comes amid deep fractures amongst Anglicans globally relating to gender and sexuality. Following two days of in depth debate, the Church of England’s Normal Synod voted in February in favor of providing prayers for God’s blessing on same-sex {couples}.
Accusing Church of England leaders of “repeated departures from the authority of God’s Phrase,” the assertion mentioned, “The newest of those departures is almost all vote by the Normal Synod of the Church of England in February 2023 to welcome proposals by the bishops to allow same-sex {couples} to obtain God’s blessing.”

The Kigali Dedication comes two months after Anglican leaders within the International South Fellowship of Anglican Church buildings (GSFA) rejected the management of the archbishop of Canterbury in a scathing letter after the Church of England voted to supply blessings for same-sex {couples}.
The Kigali Dedication famous that “each GSFA and Gafcon Primates share the view that . . . they will now not [recognize] the Archbishop of Canterbury as an Instrument of Communion, the ‘first amongst equals’ of the Primates. The Church of England has chosen to impair her relationship with the orthodox provinces within the Communion.”

A spokesperson for Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the archbishop of Canterbury, issued an announcement in response to the Kigali Dedication, noting “that no modifications to the formal constructions of the Anglican Communion may be made until they’re agreed upon by the Devices of Communion.”
Bishop of South Syndey Dr. Michael Stead, who chaired the GAFCON assertion committee, mentioned the convention made clear that “many of the world’s Anglicans have misplaced confidence within the Archbishop of Canterbury to offer a godly manner ahead that will likely be acceptable to those that are dedicated to the truthfulness, readability, sufficiency and authority of scripture,” based on Church Instances.

“This grieves us, however it’s they who’ve walked away from us,” Stead added.
